Formerly the Morningside Manor, Alcester Care and Rehab has been serving the community of Alcester and surrounding areas.  We have kept our home town, family atmosphere while continuing to improve our quality of care by taking advantage of advancements in rehabilitation services, medical technology and employee education.

Team

Chris Hansen, Administrator
Chris has been the Administrator of Alcester Care & Rehab since 2015. His background includes serving in active duty for the U.S. Army and National Guard for a total of 5 years. Concurrently serving, he achieved his B.B.A. in healthcare services administration in 2013 and an M.B.A. in 2014 with a certificate in long-term care. He resides in Alcester with his wife, Krista, where his family consists of a few cats, two horses, and a dog. He also enjoys being outdoors and active in the community. Chris is currently a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Alcester Lions's President.

Savannah Hinze, Director of Nursing

Savannah grew up in Salix, IA. She has been a RN since 2009, graduated from St. Luke’s College in Sioux City, IA, and specializing in Geriatrics. She has previous DON & Administrator experience. She has also worked on a medical-surgical / oncology unit at University Point Hospital in Sioux City, IA.

Jill Vanderfeen, Business Office Manager
Jill has been with Alcester Care and Rehab since January of 1984. She started as a CNA when she was in high school and then moved to the therapy department. In 1989, she started in the business office part time doing accounts payable and MDS inputting, from there kept learning more, and more about billing and Medicare. Jill has been the office manager since 2000, and continues to learn something new every day. Jill has had the pleasure of meeting many residents, families and staff over the years. She resides in Hawarden with her husband, Evan.  They have 3 children, 2 of whom are married. Their 4 grandchildren are the light of their lives, and look forward to more! When not spending time with family and friends, she enjoys reading and sitting in the sunshine.

Vicki Beeler, Social Services
Vicki is the Social Service Director at ACRC. She has been in this position for 13 years. She started working as a CNA and in Restorative therapy in 1987 and continued until 2000.  She left for a short time and returned in 2001. She found out while she was gone that this is where she was meant to be.  Vicki worked in the Activities Department and as Resident Care Coordinator when she returned until she started at her current position. Vicki was born and raised in Jackson, Minnesota. She moved to the Spink area in 1979. Vicki and her husband, Richard, have lived in Alcester since 1989. She has 4 children. They all attended school here and graduated from AHHS. She has 2 grandchildren who live in North Carolina. In her free time Vicki likes to read, garden, and travel, especially if it's to spend time with family.  vicki.beeler@alcestercarerehab.com

Wendy Ballantyne, Activities Coordinator

Wendy has worked in the health care field for 23 years. She began in Sioux Falls and moved to Alcester in 2011. She began working as a CNA at ACRC in 2013, and became the activities assistant in 2016. She completed her state certification and became the Activities Coordinator in 2017. She strives to provide quality care and enjoys her position at ACRC.

 

Corey Kroger, Maintenance Director
Corey has been with Alcester Care since March of 2018, he lives in Beresford with his wife Casey and  children

Barb Hamersma, Dietary Manager
Barb has been a dietary manager for 20 plus years. We strive to provide home cooked meals, and the foods that are in season, witch we ourselves would be eating at home. Barb enjoys baking, and making items that different generations can relate to. She has her mother to thank for that! Barb thinks food brings everyone together and makes life a little brighter.

 

Kayla Pies, Resource Nurse/ADON

Kayla is in the Nursing Department at ACRC.  She has been employed with ACRC since 2013 when she started as a Charge Nurse right out of college after receiving her Nursing Degree at the University of South Dakota.  During her journey at ACRC, she has worn many hats.  She started as a charge nurse, became the Resource Nurse, tried out Director of Nursing & is currently the Resource Nurse/Assistant Director of Nursing.  She has learned a lot about the billing & admissions aspect of things in her positions.  When she isn't at work, she is spending time with her family.  She is married with 4 kids and spends many days, evenings & weekends at sporting events.  If you have any questions regarding your loved ones care, please feel free to call, email or stop in when you are here!
